The City Hunter show that I have the largest number of cels from is one of my favorite incarnations, “City Hunter: Goodbye my Sweetheart / The Motion Picture”, a TV special from 1997.
AWOL Japanese Foreign Legionnaire, Takeaki Muuto, has erased his past and recreated himself as The Professor, an unstoppable hired killer that “…does not waste movement.” Using his sister, Emi (a famous otokoyaku for the Shinjuku Kageki Dan, a Takarazuka like Revue), the Professor pits himself against the only other true warrior in Japan, the City Hunter. At stake in the fight between Ryo and Takeaki is all of Shinjuku, which the Professor will wipe off the face of the planet (Ohhhhh Noooooooo!), as retribution against Mankind for abandoning him on the battlefields of the first Gulf War. Stripped of his humanity, Takeaki is a man who only feels alive when fighting for his life against impossible odds. Will Ryo be able to defeat such an adversary?
