The 3 part "Gunsmith Cats" OAV was released in 1995 and 1996.
By day, Rally Vincent and May Hopkins own and operate a gun shop in Chicago; by night, they work as bounty hunters. ATF agent Bill Collins talks (threatens to close their shop, due to illegal firearms) the pair into taking on a gun running case. Unfortunately, it’s no ordinary case; and the man behind it has control of the ATF.
This cartoon has a great retro-looking opening, and to add a sense of authenticity, the car sounds were recorded on a racing track. Parents be warned. This cartoon contains unwholesome moments, like shipment lists hidden in "adult" websites, and unknown police officers being blown away by Uzis. Also, the lead characters are drawn child-like (esp. May), but they’re supposed to be women, and they’re shown in their underwear. Cels from this show are hard to find, but at some point I’d like to find a cel from the opening.
